Priorities
My top priority is to operate the Truckee Tahoe Airport, as I believe we need a thriving and efficient Airport to support the general aviation needs of the entire region. My goal is to serve to the best of my ability and to be a good steward of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District’s allocation from property tax dollars. This allows the Board to invest and fund initiatives that improve and enhance safety, quality of life and economic growth and support affordable housing to the benefit of the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe communities equally. I ask myself almost daily, “How can we spend money to make us safer?”
Accomplishments
I not only have the experience but understand our ever-changing business climate and the need for balanced decision-making at this critical time for the Airport District. During my current term as a Truckee Tahoe Airport District Board member, I have a consistent record of building consensus and relationships to get initiatives approved, funded and enacted for our Truckee and North Lake Tahoe Communities. For example, a few initiatives I supported and TTAD funded are the purchase of a new $450,000 snowcat for local search and rescue, the purchase of land for affordable housing, shovel-ready wildfire mitigations projects and infrastructure investments at the east end of the Truckee River. I take great pride as a longtime local to my commitment to my community and my service to it.
